Who are we?

In the beginning, eMAG was a small online store specialized in electro-IT products. For the last 20 years, we have spent every day seeking new and better ways forward. We prompted a clear mission to everyone, from customers to partners, but also the communities in which we operate: to provide them continuous access to all the products and services encouraging their progress both as an individual and as part of society.

Starting from our goal of becoming the largest e-commerce ecosystem in Central and Eastern Europe, we managed to create and develop an online Marketplace platform that provides customers with access to a diverse offer featuring millions of products whenever and wherever they need them.

What Do We Do?

Launched in 2014, the eMAG app is constantly being improved so that users can easily discover products, quickly access their dedicated services, track their orders, or find suitable payment solutions. As a result, more than half of the orders are placed via the eMAG application, and the numbers are increasing every year.

We expand our product range every year so that customers can benefit from a diverse experience on our Marketplace platform. From home appliances to fashion, from home and garden products to children’s toys, from household cleaning products to cosmetics, from car accessories to pet products, our customers can choose and purchase from a catalog of more than 10 million products sold directly by eMAG or by partners through eMAG Marketplace.

Delivery solutions

In 2018, courier company Sameday launched easybox, a service consisting of a network of secured lockers allowing customers to pick up their orders at any time they want. The easybox network continues to expand every year, helping reduce both urban traffic and emissions associated with last-mile delivery. Starting with 2020, due to the latest tech developments, eMAG also introduced the product return function via the easybox network.

eMAG supply chain

Over the past few years, both Romania along with the CEE region witnessed rapid and somewhat unprecedented growth in the e-commerce market. This trend prompted eMAG to opt for expanding both its storage and order processing capacity. Such developments were complemented by continuous investments in innovative solutions addressing this need.

 

An initial investment of over 65 million euros was made in 2018 and resulted in the construction of a warehouse stretching over an area equivalent to 20 football fields. Additionally, in 2020, the second round of investments worth over 90 million euros concluded with the construction of another logistics hub situated at kilometer 19 of the A1 highway. The latter covers an area of 130,000 sqm. As a result, eMAG currently owns the two largest warehouses in Central and Eastern Europe.

 

eMAG puts the new hub alongside all other infrastructure services at the disposal of all entrepreneurs with a desire to trade online and benefit from the opportunities of the digital economy. eMAG plans to complete its investment into increasing processing capacity in the autumn of 2022. These investments targeted the implementation of technology solutions on shelves and cargo pick-up automation. Following implementation, the processing capacity of eMAG’s new logistics hub will increase to 500,000 packages daily.

We want to be close to our customers and be wherever they need us. To that end, we seek to expand our network of showrooms constantly. In each showroom, eMAG customers can rely on specialized consultancy as well as browse through and test our products. Our offer includes a variety of well-renowned brands in the electro-IT field with products employing state-of-the-art technologies. Customers can also return the products or collect their online orders in all our showrooms. Moreover, they can apply for a credit using our eCredit service, choose to discard a mobile phone via our buy-back program, or test a new device upon its delivery in the showroom.

 

All of eMAG’s showrooms in Bucharest together with the warehouses and head office hold the DEKRA Trusted Facility certification vouching for the uphold of high standards when it comes to hygienic and sanitary norms.

Genius Service

eMAG Genius is a service developed for customers seeking an effortless and time-saving shopping experience with an additional promise to save money. The service was launched in 2020 and offers free, fast, and flexible easybox or courier delivery as well as free returns within 60 days.

Flexible payment

In 2022 we concluded a partnership with PayU and launched our flexible payment service. Eligible customers can now opt for two alternative payment options for purchases made via the eMAG platform: payment in 4 installments or buy-now and pay after 30 days.

These payment options come in addition to the 100% online credit option providing customers with a fast-financing service for online purchases. Credits can be requested and approved in less than 10 minutes without the need for a trip to the bank. This form of online financing has an advantageous interest rate, similar to a personal loan.

Through this merger, we export Romanian-developed technology to Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Slovenia. We also developed the Marketplace concept in Hungary.

At the same time, we are developing services to support cross-border trade:

    eMAG Hungary

    In March 2019 we announced the merger of eMAG Hungary with Extreme Digital aiming to build one of the most important companies in the e-commerce sector in Central and Eastern Europe. Through this merger, we export Romanian-developed technology to Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Slovenia. We also developed the Marketplace concept in Hungary.

    At the same time, we are developing services to support cross-border trade:

    • Door-to-door delivery between the 3 countries (Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary for starters)
    • Fulfilment service released in September 2021
    • Artificial intelligence for automatic translation of product specifications
    • Customer care for cross-border products

    We extended our services to sellers on eMAG Hungary Marketplace and introduced the possibility of home and easybox deliveries. Moreover, for Budapest and its surroundings, customers now have the option to return products from home.

    eMAG Bulgaria

    As part of our development strategy in Bulgaria, 2020 marked the inauguration of our first showroom in Sofia. At present, eMAG is one of the leaders in the Bulgarian e-commerce sector. Accelerated growth was informed both by the expansion of our product range and investments made in technology.     eMAG App

    Launched in 2014, the eMAG app is constantly being improved so that users can easily discover products, quickly access their dedicated services, track their orders, or find suitable payment solutions. As a result, more than half of the orders are placed via the eMAG application, and the numbers are increasing every year.

    Millions of products in dozens of categories

    We expand our product range every year so that customers can benefit from a diverse experience on our Marketplace platform. From home appliances to fashion, from home and garden products to children’s toys, from household cleaning products to cosmetics, from car accessories to pet products, our customers can choose and purchase from a catalog of more than 10 million products sold directly by eMAG or by partners through eMAG Marketplace.

    Delivery solutions

    In 2018, courier company Sameday launched easybox, a service consisting of a network of secured lockers allowing customers to pick up their orders at any time they want. The easybox network continues to expand every year, helping reduce both urban traffic and emissions associated with last-mile delivery. Starting with 2020, due to the latest tech developments, eMAG also introduced the product return function via the easybox network.

    eMAG supply chain

    Over the past few years, both Romania along with the CEE region witnessed rapid and somewhat unprecedented growth in the e-commerce market. This trend prompted eMAG to opt for expanding both its storage and order processing capacity. Such developments were complemented by continuous investments in innovative solutions addressing this need.

     

    An initial investment of over 65 million euros was made in 2018 and resulted in the construction of a warehouse stretching over an area equivalent to 20 football fields. Additionally, in 2020, the second round of investments worth over 90 million euros concluded with the construction of another logistics hub situated at kilometer 19 of the A1 highway. The latter covers an area of 130,000 sqm. As a result, eMAG currently owns the two largest warehouses in Central and Eastern Europe.

     

    eMAG puts the new hub alongside all other infrastructure services at the disposal of all entrepreneurs with a desire to trade online and benefit from the opportunities of the digital economy. eMAG plans to complete its investment into increasing processing capacity in the autumn of 2022. These investments targeted the implementation of technology solutions on shelves and cargo pick-up automation. Following implementation, the processing capacity of eMAG’s new logistics hub will increase to 500,000 packages daily.

    The eMAG Showrooms

    We want to be close to our customers and be wherever they need us. To that end, we seek to expand our network of showrooms constantly. In each showroom, eMAG customers can rely on specialized consultancy as well as browse through and test our products. Our offer includes a variety of well-renowned brands in the electro-IT field with products employing state-of-the-art technologies. Customers can also return the products or collect their online orders in all our showrooms. Moreover, they can apply for a credit using our eCredit service, choose to discard a mobile phone via our buy-back program, or test a new device upon its delivery in the showroom.

     

    All of eMAG’s showrooms in Bucharest together with the warehouses and head office hold the DEKRA Trusted Facility certification vouching for the uphold of high standards when it comes to hygienic and sanitary norms.

    Genius Service

    eMAG Genius is a service developed for customers seeking an effortless and time-saving shopping experience with an additional promise to save money. The service was launched in 2020 and offers free, fast, and flexible easybox or courier delivery as well as free returns within 60 days.

    Flexible payment

    In 2022 we concluded a partnership with PayU and launched our flexible payment service. Eligible customers can now opt for two alternative payment options for purchases made via the eMAG platform: payment in 4 installments or buy-now and pay after 30 days.

    These payment options come in addition to the 100% online credit option providing customers with a fast-financing service for online purchases. Credits can be requested and approved in less than 10 minutes without the need for a trip to the bank. This form of online financing has an advantageous interest rate, similar to a personal loan.

    About the platform

    Romanian sellers can list their products for free on the eMAG Marketplace platform which allows them access to at least 500,000 potential customers on the platform daily. Currently, the platform counts tens of thousands of sellers.

    The listing process on eMAG is easy and it only requires a laptop, an Internet connection, an ID card, and the company documents. Signing up is fast and efficient and in just three days anyone can start selling online and can monitor progress in real-time.
